Environment & sustainability advisory panel
Environment & sustainability advisory panel
The environment & sustainability advisory panel provides independent scrutiny of our environmental and sustainability commitments made to customers in our business plan and environmental action plan.
Role of the panel
As a sustainable business we want to ensure that we’re doing everything possible to minimise our impact on our local communities, region and the UK. The environment & sustainability advisory panel consists of environment and sustainability experts, or experts in their field, who provide advice, guidance and oversight of our sustainability performance, commitment to biodiversity and our environment report.
The panel advises and challenges us to improve and keep delivering the best possible service to our customers and fulfil our ‘licence to operate’ with the communities we serve.
The panel will help us deliver our role in the transition to low carbon including, the delivery of our community and local energy strategy, inform our decisions on how we manage and alleviate our environmental impact within the region and provide feedback on relevant environmental issues that they feel should be a priority for us as a business.
The panel meet four times a year either in person or online. It’s led by an independent chair, Todd Holden, and attended by external panel members and senior leaders from SP ENW to ensure a direct link to the business. The company also provides secretariat support to record actions and outcomes from the panel meetings.
