A Budget Estimate

A budget estimate will provide you with an initial approximate price for your new connection. This is faster than a full detailed quote however, it cannot be accepted. The turnaround time to receive a budget estimate is 10 working days for <1MVA and 20 working days for >1MVA from when we receive your application.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Your name, correspondence address and contact details and preferred method of contact.
  • Site address and postcode including X & Y coordinates or What3Words.
  • Site location plan at an appropriate scale to indicate the site boundary.
  • The required Maximum Import Capacity (MIC) and Maximum Export Capacity (MEC) in kVA.
  • A summary of the technical details for any electricity generator that will be operating in parallel with the network.
  • A summary of the technical details for any equipment that could potentially affect the electricity supply, such as large motors, welders, or similar machinery.
  • Indicative date when the Customer requires the connection(s) to be made.

A Full Detailed Quote

A Full Detailed Quote provides a comprehensive quotation for your new connection. This will cover all of the anticipated costs associated with your new connection, split into contestable and non-contestable elements. This offer can be accepted in full.

Full detailed quotes are open to acceptance for 180 days, subject to our terms and conditions. In some cases, a charge will apply for the provision of the quotation offer, regardless of  whether you choose to accept it.

Please note that Generation Applications of 1MW and above, and Demand Applications of 5MVA and above, you must also provide the minimum information requirements outlined in the relevant section below.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Your name, correspondence address and contact details and preferred method of contact.
  • Site address and postcode including X & Y coordinates or What3Words.
  • Site Plan(s) (at an appropriate scale) detailing:

    • The site layout to include all buildings and access roads.
    • The proposed electricity meter point location (marked with an X).
    • The proposed substation location (for load over 300 kVA).
  • The required Maximum Import Capacity (MIC) and Maximum Export Capacity (MEC) in kVA, including a load breakdown where possible.
  • Preferred date for connection
  • The technical details of any electricity generator or storage device that will operate in parallel with the network, as set out in the relevant ENA Engineering Recommendation G98 or G99 Standard Application Forms
  • The technical details of any equipment that is likely to cause disturbance to the electricity supply, such as large motors, welders, or similar machinery.
  • Letter of authority where you are acting as an agent to the customer.

If you are installing generation equipment to a new or existing connection, we will also need the following information:

  • A completed  relevant ENA application form (G98/ G99)
  • Single Line Diagram (SLD)
  • Technical specifications for both new and existing generation, including inverter make and model or ENA reference (where available).
  • Existing Meter Point Administration Numbers (MPANs) (If you have an existing supply).

Point of Connection (PoC)

A Point Of Connection (PoC) offer identifies a suitable point of connection to our existing network for your required site load. This offer will also include any non-contestable works associated with your POC.

If you intend to appoint an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) to carry out the contestable works on your behalf, the ICP may submit this application for you.

PoC offers are open to acceptance for 180 days, subject to our terms and conditions. Please note that, in some cases, a charge will apply for the provision of the Point of Connection offer, regardless of  whether you choose to accept it.

Please note that Generation Applications of 1MW and above, and Demand Applications of 5MVA and above, you must also provide the minimum requirements outlined in the relevant section below.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Your name, correspondence address and contact details and preferred method of contact.
  • Site address and postcode including X & Y coordinates or What3Words.
  • Site Plan(s) (at an appropriate scale) detailing:
